I am so honored and excited to be running the Boston Marathon for Fenway Health. The mission of Fenway Health is to enhance the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community and all people in our neighborhoods and beyond through access to the highest quality health care, education, research and advocacy.
Running the Boston Marathon in 2019 was one of the most transformational experiences of my life. The run itself was quite the journey, but the best part of my experience was the support of my community - both via donation and cheering me on at the sidelines.
Running the Marathon for Fenway Health is personal for me. I am a Fenway Health patient, and never in my life have I been treated with such respect in a medical setting. From financial counseling, to my doctors visits, to the responsiveness of the nurse staff when I call with questions – I always feel respected. I want to lift up an organization that has made me feel safe in some of my most vulnerable moments.
The services and support Fenway Health provides for the queer community are critical. Specifically, I want to do more to directly impact the trans community, and queer community as a whole. Our bodily autonomy is under attack and we need resources like Fenway Health to survive. The nurses, doctors, and support staff at Fenway Health are on the frontlines of making us feel valued, and ensuring we stay healthy. I want to give back to them, and say thank you, by raising money that will go directly to the hard work they are doing. I would be so grateful if you could help me in this effort.
Thank you for your consideration and support. This journey will be long, and I can't do it without my community!
