The LEAADS Centers & Foundation is requesting food, toy or monetary support for our Feeding Families Network Initiative Holiday Food & Toy Drive on Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
We are trying to raise $15,000 to go directly towards the purchase of meat products for the food and produce boxes that will be distributed during and after the Food & Toy Drive.
Due to COVID-19, the LEAADS Centers & Foundation made a pivotal shift to provide support and focus on the immediate needs of the underserved youth and families in our communities. After conducting a series of surveys and a community needs assessments, our research found that over 80% of the families served by the LEAADS Centers & Foundation requested food as an immediate need.
Students will be out of school from December 19, 2020 through January 5, 2021 and this highlights the crucial need for food for underserved and minority youth and families during this crucial time. Our goal is to provide a minimum of 30 to 35 pounds of food during the 2020 holiday food and toy drive. A tax-deductible financial contribution, food or toy donation will give us the jumpstart we need while we continue to implement our recently developed fundraising plan.
We hope that you will find it in your hearts to support the LEAADS Centers & Foundation, Feeding Families Network Initiative. If I can provide additional information to encourage consideration of our request, please feel free to contact Ms. Karen Foote, Executive Director & Founder of The LEAADS Centers & Foundation, at 770-919-5633.
Additional to our GoFundMe campaign, we will also be accepting food, toy, and monetary donations for our Feeding Families Network Initiative the day of the event. Drop-off donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 22nd at Annistown Road Church located at 4554 Annistown Rd, Snellville, Ga 30039.

About The LEAADS Centers & Foundation, 'Community Based & Youth Focused':
In the fifteen plus years since our founding, The LEAADS Centers & Foundation has played a major role in the transformation of youth programming in Snellville, Georgia from a city with very little out of school time youth centered resources and activities. In an effort to combat youth from getting into trouble the LEAADS Centers & Foundation created and implemented valuable structured programs including The After School Academic Prep, Summer Camps, Girls Code Too Mentor Project: GA Tech partnership, Black Youth Build: Youth Entrepreneur & Financial Literacy, and Youth Employment Training & Placement Programs.
Our programs focus on incorporating a variety of Culturally Relevant Curriculums to "empower and promote positive self-identity, values, healthy habits, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, community service and education – resulting in real life transferable leadership and life skills in and outside of the classroom.”
