The coronavirus crisis has not stopped Kantaya’s dedication to continue helping children in need. Following its commitment, Kantaya is reinventing itself by launching the program:
Providing Basic Food to Kantaya’s Families
Families who, due to the quarantine, lost their job and did not receive government support. +250 families (1250 between children and adults) received food supply.
But, the lockdown is for 60 more days!
For every US$10 contributed, a family of five members will have access to one-day of food supply.
Kantaya is seeking to cover the food of 100 families (500 children and adults) for one month.
Kantaya believes in the power of education
Kantaya is committed to improving Peru’s education quality through its After-School program. The program provides learning opportunities and emotional support to children in primary education. +1,000 vulnerable children has been benefitted.
Peru is 129th out of 137 countries in quality of primary education. And Ventanilla, where Kantaya is based, is the most impoverished community in Lima where 1 out of 3 children finish secondary education, only 2% has access to higher education and 59% of their homes lack running water.
In the other hand, Peru is a TOP country with Covid19 new cases per million inhabitants.
