Please Help Feed Hungry Children in Dete, Zimbabwe
Because of the draught and the economic problems in Zimbabwe, children are starving. The statement below indicates the problem.
"There is severe hunger amongst the kids and the teachers in the schools. Now everyone is relying on mangoes to make the three meals. We have kids that roam around asking for mango fruits from those that have trees, If the schools do not get some free maize from Social Welfare, l will meet the heads to agree on the best food to get for the kids. Thanks team for coming up with a life saving plan for our kids."
We are Africa Matters. A small charity that has been helping fund education in the Dete, a City in southwest Zimbabwe for over 15 years. Dom is our representative in the country so we know he is giving us the facts. The situation is so bad that we want to increase our donations to include food as well as school fees. We need more funds to help as many children as possible. 100%of the funds we receive from your donations will go to feed the children. It is anticipated the funds will be distributed through the schools we support. This appears to be the most efficient. Thank you for your help.
We are a 501.c3 non-profit organization so all fund are tax dedutable. Dete is east of Vitoria Falls. The area has been hit with the worst drought in 40 years. Crops have failed for multiple years. Water is in short supply.
Africa Matters was certified a non-profit in 2002.
Our Mission Satement is:
To conserve natural resources, habitat and wildlife by helping to establish, promote and support interaction between artists, educators and scientists. We firmly believe that these coalitions are essential to the success of conservation. Multi-faceted problems require multi-faceted solutions. To further these goals we fund schools, offer scholarships, provide enrichment materials and support conservation work by other entities in Zimbabwe.
To achieve this mission we have supported student education by paying fees, providing educational suppies, supporting an enviromental magizine pobished in Zimbabwe and distributed to schools and assisted in the development and training residence in the manufacture of an eco stove.
