LET'S REWARD OUR HEROES ON THE FRONTLINE FIGHTING THIS FRIGHTENING DISEASE.
LET’S GIVE RESTAURANTS A CHANCE TO SURVIVE AND HIRE BACK THEIR FURLOUGHED STAFF.
LET'S SUPPORT OUR FRONTLINE HEALTHCARE WORKERS WITH FOOD DURING THIS CHALLENGING TIME AND SIMULTANEOUSLY SAVE OUR RESTAURANTS.
As a native Houstonian, the generosity of our Houston community has never ceased to amaze me. Whether it's been a hurricane, a flood and now a global pandemic - the images of Houstonians crossing dangerous water and delivering food to those that need help without any thought of of color, origin, economic status have always made me feel lucky to be surrounded by such a strong community. I've felt frustated during this time without the ability to directly help so I'm launching a campaign to raise money for Frontline Healthercare Workers at LBJ Hospital Emergency Center to receive prepared meals from local restaurants to support restaurants during this challenging time. There are over 60 healthcare workers on every shift at LBJ Emergency Center that are presented with exhausting days, stressful conditions and who have been our heroes leaving their families and safe spaces to take care of those in need. For less than $10 per warm healthy meals we're able to support our Frontline Workers and our Houston restaurant community.
About the Frontline Healthcare Workers you're supporting:
Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and Ben Taub are part of the Harris Health Systems. Its two main hospitals serve approximately one million under-insured and uninsured people, nearly a quarter of the entire population of Harris County, the third most-populous county in the United States.
About the Restaurants you're supporting:
We plan to rotate local restaurants receiving orders to support LBJ. Our first local restaurant to provide meals will be Adair Concepts. Adair is a family-owned, Houston-based restaurant group that opened its’ first restaurant, Skeeter's Mesquite Grill, in 1988. Over the last 29 years the group has expanded and Adair Family Restaurants now owns and operates eleven Houston area restaurants and happily works daily to bring quality and community to friends and neighbors.
All the money will go to provide meals and supplies for LBJ Hospital Emergency Center - Harris County Hospital District Foundation. No money will be taken for administration except by the campaign platform, GoFundMe.
