Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! In April 2018 I will be running my 2nd Boston Marathon supporting Family Reach. I am proud to represent such an amazing charity. I will also be running for Camille. Camille is a brave 15 year old girl from Melrose who was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer at the age of 11 years. Camille has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments over the last 4 years. Family Reach was there to support Camille and her family along the way helping to cover non medical expenses such as utilities and car payments that would have otherwise been unable to be paid.
For families fighting cancer, the last thing they should worry about is how to keep the heat and lights on, keep a roof over their heads, prevent eviction, ensure reliable transportation to receive proper treatment, keep their kitchen cabinets full, and so much more.....
I am thrilled to be representing and supporting Family Reach Foundation to support this amazing cause. As the cold, dark, early morning runs begin to pick up in frequency and mileage, I will think of these families that continue to fight every day as a motivation for me.
Please help me support these couragous families by donating to Family Reach Foundation and donating to my page.
Thank you so much!!
ABOUT FAMILY REACH:
Family Reach is a national nonprofit dedicated to alleviating the financial burden of cancer.
When families leave the hospital, cancer follows them home. It cuts many household incomes in half, or even entirely, as patients and caregivers put careers on hold because of daily appointments and treatment needs. This forces them to make dangerous decisions – do they pay the mortgage bill or buy groceries? With your help, we’re providing families with the resources to keep a roof over their heads, put food on the table and maintain access to cancer treatment - at the hospital, and at home.
Funding from our 2018 Boston Marathon runners will go to families receiving treatment at our local partner hospitals: Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Floating Hospital For Children At Tufts Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center.
