Welcome to the Fundraising page for the Family Support Program at Sand Point Elementary, located in Seattle, Washington.
The Need
This upcoming 2018/2019 school year, Sand Point Elementary is facing a 50% reduction in funding next year for its Family Support Program through the Family and Education Levy (FEL) from the City of Seattle. However, there is no reduction of families in need of services.
The Family Support Program provides:
• Access to basic needs supports; such as food, clothing, housing resources, utilities, medical, dental and vision care.
• Assistance for families in accessing counseling and health support services.
• Access to tutoring, mentoring and after school programs.
• Connections for families with Seattle Public Schools and community translators and interpreters.
• Access for families to educational, vocational and employment information
About Us
Sand Point Elementary is a Seattle Public School. We are very unique to Northeast Seattle in that we have an incredible diverse student body of 225 students in classes PreK through Fifth Grade. We are a Title 1 School, (meaning more than 45% of our students qualify for free- and reduced lunch) and 22% of the school are English language learners. A portion of our population includes families transitioning out of homelessness to low-income housing. These families are very vulnerable and need wrap around support to be successful in their transition. Our Family Support Program helps to provide this support and is critical to the stability these children need to achieve academic success.
Our Goal
We must raise $25,000 in order to continue to provide the support we have previously been able to give to our families in need. We believe that moving forward will only happen together with our local community.
By contributing to the Family Support Program at Sand Point Elementary, you will be making a significant impact for those directly impacted by city, state and national budget and service cuts.
Every dollar received will go directly to direct-service staff and programming. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible. If your company matches, please maximize your gift by submitting it and then email sandpointelempta@gmail.com to let us know to look out for it.
If you would prefer to make your donation by check, please make it out to "Sand Point Elementary PTA" and mail it to 6208 60th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98115.
