Hello everyone! My name is Christi and I have been an avid runner for about 10 years now. In the past, I have been blessed to have been able to run various half marathons, Spartan races, and 10Ks, but I have always wanted to train for and complete a full marathon someday. A few years ago, I endured a painful hip arthroscopy procedure that was performed in order to rid of painful bone spurs on my left femoral head, repair a labral tear, and reconstruct a damaged acetabulum. After hip reconstruction and much physical therapy, I was able to slowly get my cadence back and continue to run and train. I no longer need to complete races in pain!
This year I have been blessed to have partnered with Family Aid Boston to run the 2020 Boston Marathon. Family Aid Boston is a non-profit organization that serves to combat childhood homelessness right here in Massachusetts. They have served over 100,000 children and families in the greater Boston area by using a multi-faceted approach to providing shelter, transportation, family, and therapeutic support for people in need. I am extremely happy to be able to not only train for my first marathon, but also to help raise funds for such an incredible organization.
Every contribution helps, no matter how large or small! Please help me check this item off of my bucket list and help get me to the finish line!
