In June of 2018, our world changed forever when my dad, Declan, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. By March, we had to say goodbye but his memory, hard work and dedication lives on. His years as a volunteer at Falmouth Service Center brought about his notorious passion for helping others and developing ways to support them to achieve their goals, something that he continued to participate in until shortly before he passed. FSC's mission is to ease stress, reduce hunger and improve the quality of life for neighbors in need. With the help of many volunteers, FSC works to increase self-sufficiency by helping to build networks among clients, neighbors and agencies. I am honored to be a part of the FSC team at this year's Falmouth Road Race through the "Numbers for Non-Profits" program. While it will certainly be a challenge, I am excited to continue my dad's enthusiasm in supporting FSC and the services it provides to the community.
