Falmouth Youth Basketball Association, in collaboration with Falmouth High School (Maine), is working on options to give Falmouth Youth a way to play basketball this winter. As we continue to work through options for winter 20/21 basketball based on the community sport guidelines from the Maine CDC, the FYBA board acknowledges the importance of having outdoor space for the youth of Falmouth.
After assessing a number of projects and with the uncertainty of the upcoming winter season, we have decided to begin with a renovation of the outdoor basketball court behind the Falmouth Elementary School to give the community an outdoor space to do play. This community investment project began last week and when it’s complete will include:
> Removal of existing hoops and replacing with new hoops — Completed last week!
> Resurfacing of the pavement
> Painting new lines
> Adding Lights
We value the importance of physical activity for kids. Weather and snow permitting, we will use the outdoor court as much as possible.
By funding this project, not having an income this year for our league, and not knowing the future, FYBA is dipping into our reserves.
We are reaching out to our community and asking for donations. We realize times can be tough, strange, and uncertain. We also realize any amount can help. This outdoor court, will give our kids an option to get out and play some hoops.
We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit and your donation is tax-deductible. Thank you for your consideration.
