My name is Tom Crowley and for the past 7 years (making this the 8th) I have been keeping up the ridiculous tradition of running Falmouth Road Race in sandals. As the years progressed, I started running in costumes which have gotten more elaborate each year. Last year I ran in a home made lighthouse costume that i modeled after the scenic lighthouse each runner passes during the race. i will be the first to tell you that it was one of the most terrible experiences of my life but I am big on tradition and love unnecessary challenges. This year I felt like I should put my tradition to good use and help raise money for charity like the New England Center and Home for Veterans. Feel free to read into it but the proceeds all go to helping out veterans who are facing or at-risk of homelessness, helping them get back on their feet. This years costume is a tough one to explain but basically I am going to run with 2 lifesize puppets attached to me front and back with poles at the limbs and waist. with these dolls attached to me by poles at each limb it will give the affect of 3 people running in sync (when my legs moves the puppets legs move and same with the arms.) Wish me luck because I am confident it will be ridiculously hard to run 7.1 miles with this setup.
