I am honored to be able to run the 2019 Falmouth Road race to support Journey Forward, an amazing organization that helps those with spinal injuries and disabilities.
Journey Forward is a very special place to my family.
Three years ago, in July 2016, my dad was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome and became paralyzed suddenly and completely head to toe. He spent months in the ICU and rehabilitation center fighting to regain feeling in his body to eventually breath, eat and sit again on his own. When he finally came home over Thanksgiving he started a program at Journey Forward which helped him regain his strength and ability to move, walk and run. He started in a wheelchair focused on very small movements and eventually walked, ran, played basketball, used a gravity free treadmill, and more. The process was long and bumpy but the amazing people at Journey Forward helped to challenge my dad and overcome all obstacles in his way. #sabrastrong
I am so grateful for their team of specialists and the facility itself and want to support them in any small way I can. Please help me raise money for this amazing organization!

Journey Forward, a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization, is a comprehensive exercise-based physical recovery program for people with paralysis. Regardless of a prognosis, Journey Forward believes that exercise is important to everyone. When one is able bodied, they benefit from every day functions such as walking. But, when one is confined to a wheelchair, it is important to maintain overall health through deliberate exercise. Living with paralysis is beyond devastating and Journey Forward hopes that working towards recovery can be an option for everyone.
