Remembering Wendi
More about us

empowerHER is very near + dear to our hearts and we are proud to share more about our involvement.  This year will mark 23 years since our beautiful sister, daughter, and mother, Wendi Whitehead Lino, was taken from us in a tragic car accident. Kaylee was just 2 years old and Aunt Amie was 17 years old at the time.

empowerHER is a nonprofit for girls who have experienced the loss of their mothers.  We are so excited to announce our empowerHER FACE MASK FUNDRAISER and hope you will join Amie, Stephen, Kaylee + Hieu with your mask purchase!

Throughout our lives, our family and friends, as well as the Falmouth community, have showed our family so much love and support – and for that we are forever grateful.  However, not all young girls who lose their mother have the kind of support we had after losing Wendi.

100% of all proceeds will benefit empowerHER's newly launched virtual programs for girls across the globe. This year's Falmouth Road Race is taking place virtually, however, we are proudly running the 7 miles together - and making it a family affair!

More about empowerHER

empowerHER was formed in 2013 by our friend Cara Belvin after a recognized need in the community - and before wearing masks was a thing.  One of our favorite mottos, "IT’S NICE TO BE NICE" honors all those mothers gone too soon, their brave daughters living their legacy, and our beauitiful Wendi.  Purchase a mask (or 2 ) or simply make a donation below.

What began as a grassroots movement in Scituate, MA is now an international nonprofit.
The mission is simple - to empower, support and connect girls  and young women up to age 24 who have experienced the loss of their mothers. empowerHER is non-therapeuatic, volunteer-driven and community based and all programs are free of charge to the family.

Today, empowerHER serves 500+ girls from across the globe and hosts in-person and virtual events for girls along with a mentor program designed to provide year-round support to the whole family.
