The Jersey City Rapid Maker Response Group (JCRMRG, affiliate of United Way of Hudson County) is a collective of volunteers formed in April 2020 for the purpose of producing face shields, a vital piece of PPE, to donate to healthcare and essential workers.
As of May 20th, we have donated over 4,300+ face shields and 500+ ear savers to hospitals and healthcare facilities in New Jersey, all produced by our volunteer network of local 3D printers.
Simultaneously, we've rapidly scaled our manufacturing capacity, and have begun production of 70,000+ injection molded face shields, which will start being distributed across New Jersey and beyond at the end of May.
In order to continue protecting our healthcare and essential workers, we're looking for individual and corporate donors to help finance weekly production at our current scale. Every $50,000 gets us another week of production of 50,000 face shields.
Your donations are used for:The frame of the face shield (100% recyclable) The visor (100% recyclable) Button-hole elastic bands for all sizes Material for 3D printed ear savers, which maximizes comfort of face masks
No donation is too small! Every dollar you donate equals one shield for front line workers.
All donations will be tax exempt and processed by our fiscal sponsor United Way of Hudson County.
