Friends and Family! I volunteer with an INCREDIBLE one-week camp for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. The camp allows kids to laugh during talent shows, cry during campfires/ceremonies, learn from group therapy sessions, play basketball and a dozen other sports, create artwork and lasting friendships, remember the person who died, and forget the grief that weighs them down. This camp truly changes kids’ lives for the better and the best part is that it is FREE for them—families will never have to worry about a bill. We had 580 campers last summer and expect over 700 next summer. We also recently had over 80 CAMPERS on a wait list; I’m asking for your support to ensure that we never have to turn away another grieving child who needs our help. A mere $1,000 sends a kid to camp for a week. Today we have the opportunity to win $35,000 as the organization that raises the most money in the Crowdrise Holiday Challenge. Please contribute what you can to help us send more kids to the most transformative and absolute best week of the year. I appreciate ANY amount (no matter how small)!

This past summer marked our 10th year of Experience Camps. In 2009, we held our first program with 27 boys at Camp Manitou and we've been off and running ever since. Next summer, we will have over 700 campers at 5 locations around the country. It is through the people who believe in us that we've been able to grow as fast as we have, and yet there's so much more to do.
Our volunteers, campers, families, partners, influencers, and supporters are the loudly ticking heart of this organization. Please join us in sharing the message, sharing your own story, and filling the fuel tank of this engine so we can keep reaching the kids who need us.
