The Chicago Brewseum explores the vibrant culture and innovative history of brewing through the eyes of the people who make it. We’ve built a non-profit organization to help us share these stories and we need a little help to continue our work.
Our journey is already underway. We’ve been hosting talks, tours and other experiences at breweries, bars, and museums all over world. In 2019, in partnership with the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, we debuted the annual Beer Culture Summit, a four day museum, academic, and beer indsustry conference open to anyone and everyone.
Our first exhibition, Brewing Up Chicago: How Beer Transformed a City, was on display at the Field Museum from November 2018 - September 2020.
You can also get a taste of our work by sampling any one of the historically-minded beer collaborations we’ve created with partner breweries and cultural organizations (seriously, what better way to experience beer history). Or join us as we tour the country and the globe, working with artists, museums, breweries, scholars, and more.
Our future home in Chicago will be a 30,000 square foot facility, housed in a multi-story LEED-Certified building. Our engaging and interactive exhibits will highlight Chicago’s storied relationship with beer past and present while also featuring national and international explorations of brewing history on a rotating basis. Combined with a nanobrewery and taproom featuring unique brews (this is a museum devoted to beer, after all) and event spaces to host public programs and kindred organizations, the Chicago Brewseum will be a premier destination for learning about one of the world’s most vibrant industries.
We like beer. We like museums. We know we’re not the only ones. Your donation will help fund incredible beer history and cultural programming and will assist us in bringing the Chicago Brewseum to life.
The Chicago Brewseum is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural organization. Learn more about us at chicagobrewseum.org and by following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
