I had never participated in a long distance run, but then I made a commitment to run for a cause and that is what I do now! In February of 2014, I began my journey of running for a cause. My first race EVER was the Philly Broad Street Run in 2014. Then two halfs (including the Philly half) in 2014. I had the opportunity to be a runner for the Hope Express (a relay run from Hershey Medical Center to Penn State Dance MaraTHON). Each training run and each race is dedicated to a cancer warrior, survivor, and/or angel. Unfortunately, cancer SUCKS and I am always dedicating my runs to someone amazing!
In summer of 2016, I found out I was pregnant with the cutie in the EWF onesie (Aiden at 3 days old)! I took a break from running when I was pregnant and postpartum.
I finally returned to running and did my first postpartum run, the 2018 Philly Broad Street Run (love when things come full circle)! Now the17 month old toddler rockin the Penn State onesie can cheer for me at the finish line!
I am beyond excited to join the 2018 EWF Philly Marathon Team and participate in the Philly half while fundraising for the Emily Whitehead Foundation!
Thank you for your support!
