We believe that those who have a relationship with their environment will be more likely to protect it. We also believe that children deserve the right to a wild and free childhood where learning is self-directed, mentor-facilitated and takes place in an organic environment. In 2016 EverWild begain offering forest school and nature immersion programs that utilize a classroom without walls, the Santa Monica Mountains, and local beaches and wetlands. In the past three years these programs have increased the impact of environmental stewardship practices within communities by providing children with a deeper nature connection, increased access to meaningful outdoor experiences, and qualified mentorship.
We are seeking support to expand our nature immerson program to the Santa Clarita Valley. We plan to increase access to the outdoors for children ages 4.5-6. The funding will support the initial start up fees associated with getting the program "Fall ready". These start up fees include project materials, first aid supplies, basecamp blankets, mentor CPR/First Aid certifications, mentor trainings, and organizational expenses; including initial wages for employees and office personell. Donations will not cover the program expenses beginning Fall of 2020.
