Across the district, Evergreen Education Association members have heard from families in our community who are impacted financially by this pandemic and struggling to meet their basic needs. Particularly hard hit are undocumented families who are ineligible to receive the economic stimulus check and don’t qualify for unemployment benefits. We’ve fielded calls from families who are suddenly unable to pay their rent and utilities and can’t afford diapers or medicine. Several organizations that serve members of our community in Southwest Washington are collaborating to distribute the money collected by this fund directly to families most in need- including many families in our district. Join your union colleagues in donating money to stand with families in our community.
We are fundraising to support the Washington State Undocumented relief fund. You can learn more about the statewide efforts here.
Three ways you can support our campaign
1. Donate. No amount is too small nor too large.
2. Become a monthly donor.
3. Share. When sharing please include why it is personally important for you to support our undocumented community in Washington State during this time.
If you want to send a check please send us an email via email@example.com. If you want to make a donation via a donor-advised, or a Trust our EIN is 81-3153433 Scholar Fund (DBA: Scholarship Junkies)
** For logistics and transparency: Money raised will go directly to Scholarship Junkies, a registered 501(c)(3), who will disburse the money to directly impacted individuals and families who applied for assistance until all the funds raised are completely distributed. We are estimating that the distribution amounts will be between $500 - $1,000 per individual. We will be releasing a form for undocumented individuals and families to apply for assistance on Wednesday, April 8th, 2020, after donations have been made, to have a better sense of how much we are able to give to each individual.
