In Ethiopia, there is approximately one cataract surgeon for every million people in a country with nearly 100 million population. So cataract blindness is rampant. Ethiopia needs more cataract surgeons. While volunteering for Cureblindness.org in December of 2017, Becca and I met a young professor of ophthalmology, Tesfalem Hagos, who has the surgical ability, leadership skills, and interest in teaching that will make him one of the future medical leaders in Ethiopia. Supporting Dr. Tesfalem will reduce treatable blindness in Ethiopia, so please join us in a quest to provide him and his colleagues at Aksum University the equipment they need to succeed.
