Empower Through Health (ETH) is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission it is to improve healthcare access to the most vulnerable populations by building local healthcare capacity and addressing root causes of poor community health. ETH specifically works to reduce global healthcare injustices in the Busoga region of Uganda, primarily around ETH's Mpunde Health Center. The ETH University chapter program was born in the summer of 2020 with the Global Leaders Fellowship program. The ETH team started the Fellowship program with students from five universities, University of Notre Dame, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, Williams College, and Washington University in St. Louis. This Fellowship program offered undergraduate students the opportunity to create an ETH chapter at their respective universities. The fellowship included opportunities to learn about global health, meet with respected professionals, and create an organizatoinal structure for their chapter. Each chapter has a specific global health issue of primary focus; alongisde the ETH team, the chapters will be working to organize educational events and a grassroots campaign to help address this issue.
