The human connection has always been at the core of our mission to provide inspiring and meaningful educational programs to the “uniquely–abled” community of youth and young adults.
We provide a community where our students, family, and friends can learn, discover, grow, and feel at home.
This group of diverse learners face challenges that are different than their neurotypical peers. Some of our students are impacted by physical limitations, some by focus and concentration disruptions, others by sensory disintegration effects, and yet others by neuro-motor dysregulation.
What they all have in common is the capacity and desire to explore their interests, grow their knowledge and be challenged in thought, creativity, and task.
We strive to instill the mindset that there are no limits to what they can attain given the RIGHT ENVIRONMENT, SUPPORT and ENCOURAGEMENT.
Access and opportunity are vastly missing from their day-to-day life because mainstream programs often fall short in truly understanding the needs and potential of these unique learners.
At the Legacy Center keeping the connection real and creating content that is engaging, motivating, and interactive has been a true undertaking as we have had to move our in-person programs to a virtual platform.
Our leadership team is embracing the challenge; innovating and collaborating in ways we never have before, and growing in ways we never would have considered if COVID-19 had not forced us to be safer-at-home.
Now more than ever, we need that connection to one another and to be grounded in a sense of normalcy as we wait for the new future of our physical interaction to be defined.
Your donation today will allow us to not only continue serving our community on a virtual platform, but to also support the Legacy Center when we can reunite in person, grounded in our belief that we are essential to each other.
