Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance, and for medically complex children, that can be a death sentence.
Zian is a 5-month-old baby boy who lives with his family in the Philippines. He has hydrocephalus and spina bifida.
His parents have been unable to work due to covid restrictions. His mother was making and selling donuts for 10 cents each to earn money for the needs of her children. But she has been unable to earn enough for the ingredients so they have had no income recently.
Their extended family have been giving them a few dollars at a time so that they do not starve. But they also have their own families to feed.
Zian was able to have shunt surgery for his hydrocephalus earlier in the year. But he has has some skin breakdown on his head. So we are raising funds to purchase a supportive pillow for his head, diapers, formula, wipes, feeding bottles and vitamins for him.
Can you help Zian?
