It is hard to believe that I am ending one chapter and beginning a new journey as a recent college graduate. I am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had throughout college and the support of family and friends. I'm excited to move forward with a new chapter and to share that I have decided to join the PULSE program in Pittsburgh, PA.
I was attracted to the PULSE program because of the opportunity it provides to complete a year of service while also developing personal and professional skills through weekly seminars. I'm also excited to work, learn, and live alongside other PULSE fellows in intentional community!
Thanks to the example shown to me by many family members and friends, I strive to commit to a life of acknowledging disparities and inequalities and contributing what I can to combat those. I believe PULSE is a great step on that life long journey. I am looking forward to learning from Pittsburgh nonprofits, PULSE staff, and the other PULSE fellows to grow in that capacity. I'm excited to move beyond the context of the classroom or short summer internships and invest myself in a year of full time work and engagement, and hopefully to deepen the impact that I have as a result. I’m looking forward to gaining experience in the non-profit sector and my hope is that this year will help me better discern what my next steps should be.
Part of my first task is to assemble a team of people who will support me in this work.
If you are willing and able, I am humbly asking for your financial support this year. I am in the process of raising a minimum of $2,500 to cover expenses for this year of service and leadership. Your support will help impact the lives of Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable. Any amount, no matter how small or large will go a long way towards helping me meet this goal!
Thank you!
