I hate cancer. I hate cancer because it takes people away too soon, like my friend who never got to see her son graduate from high school, or college, or grow into the wonderful man she worked so hard to raise alone.
I hate that it becomes such a financial burden on people’s families who are desperately funding the fight to keep their loved ones alive. You shouldn’t have to decide which utilities to pay because you are drowning in medical debt.
Cancer doesn’t discriminate, and in this case that’s not admirable. It takes children, moms, dads, partners, and siblings away from the ones who love them.
This is why I’ve chosen to take on the challenge of tackling the iconic Art Museum steps for 24 hours straight. Sounds crazy, right? Well, it sort of is, but if completing this physically demanding feat will help raise funds to aid in assisting families suffering from financial burdens, and will contribute to research to eradicate this monster of a disease…well, I’m all in!
If you hate cancer as much as I do, and could throw a few bucks my way in support of this crazy adventure, or even join me (for as long or as short of a time that you’d like) and register to run some steps too, I’d be grateful beyond belief.
Thank you!!
