Help fund our most critical resources - the tools and materials youth use to transform themselves.
Every piece of wood and every tool in our workshop has a story of a young person wrapped into it. These are the mechanisms through which youth build skills, confidence, and grow as individuals towards a successful future. With new workbenches, tools, and materials, you can help continue these programs, serving hundreds of youth each year. Annually, we spend over $26,000 on the materials needed to facilitate our life-changing programming. Through covering this annual expense, we will invest more dollars to serve more youth, more meaningfully. These cost savings and items will have an impact on everyone in the Urban Boatbuilders community; youth, volunteers, and staff.
Together, let's ensure we can continue to provide high quality programming to Twin Cities youth. Please support us by making a donation and spreading the word about this campaign to raise $26,000 by May 3rd to purchase these materials.

About Urban Boatbuilders:
Mission:
To empower youth to succeed in work and life through woodworking and experiential learning.
About Us:
In 1995, a small group of community leaders saw an increased lack of opportunities for youth to learn and develop through hands-on activities, and thus formed the nonprofit Urban Boatbuilders. Since that time, this lack of hands-on opportunities has increased, along with youth unemployment rates and an increased emphasis on standardized testing in schools. Urban Boatbuilders seeks to address the gap this creates for youth to gain technical, social, and emotional skills that will prepare them to pursue their academic and vocational goals. Since Urban Boatbuilders was founded more than 24 years ago, the foundations of hands-on learning and skill-building have been used to create and continuously improve strong programs that help youth prepare themselves to pursue their own success in the modern world.
