Before joining our workshop, Ruba Abbassi dreamed of creating a book to encourage Arab women. But she lacked the confidence to write. Skilled editors and fellow writers encouraged her in our training with several Middle Eastern publishers.
Today her title, The Arab Woman: Embracing Her Potential, reaches women and church leaders in 13 countries and helps them address women's struggles from a Christian perspective. Ruba's book and other new books have blessed readers since our partnership with Ophir Publishers and the Christian Arab Writer Initiative began 10 years ago. Since then we have equipped 130 writers and editors from a half dozen countries in the Middle East in 7 on-site trainings.
This November dozens of talented writers from Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Egypt and other countries will participate in two days of virtual training, November 5 and 6. Trainers will include gifted Middle Eastern communicators, plus award-winning authors Philip Yancey, Miriam Adeney, Robin Gunn and Tessa Afshar. The writers will gain additional help through a new website filled with videos and articles on the ministry of writing.
Would you help these writers craft words of hope for the Arab world? Your gift of:
-$30 will cover roughly 10 minutes of training
-$50 will provide 15 minutes of teaching
-$100 will cover 30 minutes of instruction
Your donation of any amount for this fast-approaching training will help cover the new website and translation of training materials to Arabic.
If this is your first-ever gift to MAI, your gift will be doubled thanks to a matching grant.
Please pray this workshop leads to lasting outcomes that spiritually nurture readers in the Arab world.
