Grateful for being a part of team Epic Love Radio in this year's Ctossing For A Cure. The team channeled the warrior within to paddle 80 miles from the Bahamas to Florida from approximately 1:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thanks to all the volunteers, coordinators, friends and families who helped make it happen.
While we conquered the Atlantic, our mission is incomplete until we find a cure for cystic fibrosis. Towards that goal we keep spreading awareness and fundraising! You can donate right here!
Crossing For A Cure 2019
Due to the health benefits associated with oceanic conditions for managing cystric fibrosis (CF), and in an effort to raise awareness and fundraising for the benefit of people affected by CF, on June 15th my three teammates and I representing team Epic Love Radio will standup paddle board (SUP) approximately 80 miles in the Atlantic Ocean from Bimini, Bahamas, to Lake Worth, Florida. This endurance event is known as Crossing For A Cure (X4AC2019). This year's event marks the fourth consecutive year of the event.
Proceeds raised go the Piper's Angels Foundation, a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support and improve the lives of people affected by CF. Please help me fundraise for this worthy cause!
About Cystic Fibrosis
CF is a genetic condition that can cause severe damage to the respiratory and digestive systems through a buildup of thick, sticky mucus. CF can lead to life-threatening problems including infections, respiratory failure, and malnutrition. Specifically, CF affects the body's secretory glands and cells that produce fluids. Normally, these secreted fluids are thin and smooth and lubricate various organs and tissues, preventing them from getting dry or infected. Instead of acting as a lubricant CF causes fluids to clog ducts and passageways. The most commonly affected organs are the lungs, pancreas, liver, and intestine. Currently, there is no cure for CF.
