My name is Tommy Rutt. On April 29th, 2018 I will be participating in the New Jersey Marathon, and I hope to use this opportunity to help finance anti-sex trafficking efforts, and to raise awareness of the prevalence of human trafficking in the United States. Human trafficking is real - and it's not limited to the third world. There are more slaves in the world today than at any other time in history, and many of them can be found in the 3,000 mile span that bridges the United State's Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Love True is a New Jersey non-profit whose mission is to end domestic sex trafficking through prevention education and awareness, and to care for and provide much-needed services and resources for victims of domestic trafficking in the state of New Jersey. To date Love True has provided survivor care for many victims of trafficking, and trained thousands of adults and children to identify, respond to, and protect themselves from trafficking. Like all non-profits, Love True is sustained by the support of community who shares its vision and passion. Every person can share in the vision of a world free of slavery and exploitation. Every individual can share in the vision of caring for and seeing victims of sex-slavery restored to normal and healthy lives. I am asking you to partner with Love True. Will you "run my race" with me? I have been preparing for this 26.2 mile run since mid-2017. Now, with only little more than three months till the race, I will be increasing my mileage, time, and effort on the roads and trails. Between January 1st and April 28th I will be logging nearly 700 miles - that's 93 hours - of road time as I train for this event. I am asking individuals and families to consider giving a multiple of $26.2 monthly, each month until the race, or a one time gift of $262. Will you consider financing the abolition of modern-day slavery? With all my heart, I thank you for your consideration, ~tommy rutt
