The other day I heard a principal tell a story about a little boy in her school who, when referring to dinner the night before, said he didn't have dinner because "it wasn't my turn." This hit me at my core. I can't imagine not being able to feed both of my children whenever they are hungry. What if my babies went to be hungry?
That's why I have joined the challenge to help raise $70,000 to end childhood hunger! I invite you, my dear friends and family, to join me by making a donation today. My personal goal is to raise $500. In many ways, Warren is your typical second grader: He loves watching YouTube, playing video games, and throwing a football with his friends. But unlike other kids his age, Warren often goes to bed hungry. A school meal is typically his only ticket to eating that day. What happens when that critical meal disappears when school is not in session? Summers are especially hard for families living in poverty.
Action Ministries works to end hunger and homelessness, and to close achievement gaps for local children and families. Our programs feed, house, and educate children during the summer and school year—changing lives, helping families, and growing communities.
