EndeaVor Adaptive Sports, Incorporated was founded June 2017. Our mission fostering inclusion and independence of those with disabilities is just in the beginning stages. We are a 501c3 non-profit with a human services direction. Our organization provides a valuable service to individuals with disabilities and their families through providing access to the community and encouraging activity through sport as well as related activities.
EAS was started by 4 women, all closely involved in the disability community through having family members with disabilities themselves. They, as parents, were looking for outlets for their children and opportunity to be part of the community, to build a network of individuals who would be not only mentors/mentorees, but a support, a community. Together they have helped to provide access to their loved ones and others in the community since 2014. The pride and joy on their children's faces was enough to keep them coming back and forging ahead. There is no way that the impact can be explained in mere words. It's something that has to be seen.
This mission expanded and evolved to become EndeaVor Adaptive Sports, Inc. And the desire to bring the same impact to others grew from the moment they saw the effect that racing had on their children. The true inspirations are these children and grandchildren who show them what resilience and strenth is each and every day. Racing in events all over the state, such as the Publix , Cohutta Triathlon, Hot Chocolate 5/10K, Hotlanta Half as well as in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama, and many more over the years, it's obvious they want to bring inclusion to the forefront and help give access where it hasn't been before.
There are many needs associated with starting an organization. Some of the basic needs are equipment purchases such as adaptive racing (and other such as rock climbing) gear, tents, tables/chairs, truck/trailer to haul our equipment and on down to volunteer gear/shirts and other administrative needs.. The adaptive gear can be costly such as for our conversion chairs. Our elite and conversion equipment (racing chairs) run between $3000-$5000 each. We have a goal of 10 new chairs over the next year. We also need as many volunteers as are interested! We invite you to come out and see what we are doing and gauge our impact!
We are a 501c3 organization and as such, are fully reliant upon the generosity of our supporters. Please consider helping EAS to reach it's goals so we have the opportunity to serve everyone who wants to participate.
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to let us share our mission and need with you. We know you have many options for charities to donate to and are appreciative of your donations.
