This year has been a tough one for survivors. The Trump administration launched numerous attacks on Title IX, ultimately issuing proposed regulations that favor accused students and make university campuses unsafe. The administration also attempted to erase transgender people and deny them legal protections. We also learned that too many people fail to understand or care about the barriers that survivors face in reporting, as government officials failed to take seriously numerous allegations of seuxal violence against a U.S. Supreme Court nominee. Despite all of this, we have refused to back down and be silenced. To name just a few things, SurvJustice has worked harder than ever to support survivors and ensure that their rights are protected; we represented survivors in campus disciplinary processes; we pursued civil cases to hold perpetrators and enablers of sexual violence accountable; and we even sued Betsy DeVos.
But we need your help now more than ever to continue pushing back against this administration's efforts to undermine Title IX and, in turn, schools' willingness to discriminate against survivors, thinking that they will not be held accountable. However, we want to be there for survivors as they report to hold those schools accountable and ensure a fair process that protects survivor rights. We can't continue to do that without your donations. Please consider giving any amount you can. It would mean the world to us, our clients, and all the survivors out there who are quietly wondering if they should come forward.
