Hey Pals and Gals!
On March 24th I’m running a half-marathon with the My Friend‘s Place team to raise money for MFP, a non-profit organization in Hollywood which specializes in providing services for 1/4 of the Los Angeles homeless youth population through their Safe Haven Program such as meals, clothes, day-shelter, showers, hygiene supplies etc.
They also offer programs to enrich the lives of homeless youth, such as the Transformative Education Program, The Life Skills & Employment Readiment Program, and the Creative Living and Arts Program which includes: (Creative Writing, Improv, Sewing, Photography, Circus Arts, Painting, Journaling, Drawing, Arts & Crafts, Scholarship Program, Music, Jewelry, On-Site Internships).
As some of you may know, I teamed up with my friend, Courtney “Care Kits” Kimball over Thanksgiving and Valentines Day to organize teams to assemble and distribute care kits and sandwiches to the homeless. Since so many people from our own community were interested in pitching in, and helped us more than double the donations goal we had set in our fundraiser (which I am still dumbfounded by <3>
That said, I was just hoping to get more involved, and My Friend’s Place basically started out the same way we did, by driving around handing out sandwiches- and I think that’s pretty neat. :) They are a wonderful organization and I hope you‘ll help me raise them some money so they can continue to do even more good for the community!
Love, peace, and Chicken Grease,
Erin Nicole Bounds
