Hello friends! I am proud to announce that I will be running the Hartford Marathon 5k! empowerHER is an organization that supports and connect girls of all ages who have experienced the early loss of their mothers. I am running for TEAM eH in support of my best friend Cara and my cousin Taylor. Cara lost her beautiful mom when she was just 9 years old. Growing up I tried to support Cara as best as I could. Thinking back, she really needed access to people who could relate to her situation, which is why she is so passionate about this amazing organization that she founded. Watching her grow and perseverehas been amazing! My cousin Taylor lost her mother when she was in high school. Her experiences with empowerHER have been so amazing and I am so glad she has had the opportunity to connect with other girls. It is so wonderful to see her growing into a beautiful, strong woman. Please visit my page to donate! Remember that no donation is ever too small!
empowerHER was founded in 2013 with a very specific mission —to empower, support and connect girls of all ages who have experienced the early loss of their mothers. The empowerHER story starts with a young girl who has lost her mother. The empowerHER story is not necessarily about grief, but rather how we draw strength from one another and empower one another.
empowerHER has one mission with two programs: EVENTS for GIRLS take place in tandem with a thoughtful 1:1 MENTOR MATCH PROGRAM with caring and responsible community volunteers. Events remind the girls they are not alone in their loss and mentorship gives them a strong female role model as they traverse the difficult terrain of grief. All programs and activities are provided at no charge to the family.
