Benita, a young girl who dreamed about education but couldn’t afford it. She sold baking goods in the mining areas just so she can support her family and herself. She and her sister earned a certificate as a hairdresser at the HEAR Congo center. They then opened a small shop where they took turns to work in the morning and afternoon and attended school. Benita is a brilliant 16-year-old who wants to become a nurse and serve community. Benita is one of our beneficiaries who started a small STEM Club where she encourages other girls to pursue education.
I am Michelle Kanama, I am a marketing professional who will be travelling to DR Congo this summer with HEAR CONGO in a group called CONGO IMMERSION TRIP. It provides job training and entrepreneurship education to help other girls like Benita accomplish their dreams. I am excited about volunteering my time and to help tell stories like Benita's of the truimph and hope that HEAR CONGO program provides. This will give them an option to achieve their dreams, empower their community and contribute to the development of Congo, Africa and the world. Join me and be part of the change today. Your donation will help cover travel costs to make this dream come true for women and girls in Congo. www.hearcongo.org
