FROM THE ROOTS NETWORK BOARD:
As missionaries living in Rwanda, Adam and Emily Koelling have always known to expect the unexpected. For the last couple of months, Emily has had some difficulty with dizziness and facial weakness. She was able to have a visit with her doctor in Kigali, and he ordered an MRI of the brain. The scan showed a small tumor called an acoustic neuroma. This type of tumor is typically not cancerous, but it will require immediate intervention to treat it.
While this season will look differently than planned, the Koellings are ready to walk through it and prayerfully return to the mission field. The Lord has already gone before them in so many ways. Emily already has all of the right doctors in place, and they hope that she can have surgery mid-August. Borders remain closed in Rwanda, but they have managed a flight out via the Embassy.
Thank you for your support of Adam and Emily and The Roots Network. The TRN mission will continue with our East African team as they continue to carry on the work of The Roots Network while Emily and Adam return home for surgery, recovery, and healing. They covet your prayers and are so thankful for the love and support for the coming months.
Here are some immediate prayer needs:
Pray that Emily's symptoms will be minimal during travel.
Pray for the girls, as this is a big transition. Pray for their hearts as they leave Rwanda, amazing friends, ministry, and community, even for a season.
Pray for protection from COVID as they travel and re-settle before surgery.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support, which we hope will not only meet the Koellings financial needs and continue the work in East Africa during this time but provide an emergency fund for future needs. Thank you for being on this journey with us. Our board will send out updates as things move forward.
"Do not worry, instead pray. Then you will experience my peace which exceeds all understanding." Philippians 4:6-7
