Out to Pasture Sanctuary scrambled to evacuate over 150 animals just ahead of raging wildfires threatening the sanctuary in Estacada, Oregon. The enourmous rescue effort continued through the sleepless and chaotic night. The last and most difficult to move, the pigs, were trailered out in the wee hours of the morning.
Thanks to an outpouring of love and help from the community, everyone is now safe and out of harms way! We thank you for the heartwarming flood of support and concern from friends old and new! Times like these reveal the good in humanity.
At this time we desperately need funds
more than anything else to make sure we can continue to feed and care for all the animals until we can make a plan to return. In addition to caring for all the evacuated animals and getting them all safely back home, we will use extra funds to rebuild if needed, upgrade evacuation equipment and be better prepared for future emergencies.
UPDATE: The sanctuary property is still in the fire's path and the fire is 1000 feet from the property! Some animals have already been moved multiple times because the evacuation zone has expanded into yesterday's safe zone. We have also gone back to rescue neighbor's animals left behind.
Many details and logistics are still getting sorted out. Please stay tuned on our website and social media for updates.
