Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Jhonzel is a 2-year-old boy who lives with his parents in the Philippines. His father works as a deliveryman, earning around US$100 per month.
Jhonzel has a large cystic hygroma in his cheek. Cystic hygromas are fluid-filled sacs that occur most commonly on the head or neck of a baby. They are a result of blockages in the lymphatic system. Cystic hygromas can grow very large and may affect breathing and swallowing.
Jhonzel needs to have his cystic hygroma surgically removed to prevent further impairment to his swallowing and breathing. Unfortunately his family cannot come up with the money needed for the surgery.
That's where you come in! Can you help us raise the funds needed for Jhonzel's much needed surgery?
