Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance. Meet Prince Sky! He is 11 months old and has spina bifida - hydrocephalus and a myelomeningocele. He lives in the Philippines. (A myelomeningocele is a severe form of spina bifida in which the spinal cord and nerves develop outside of the body and are contained in a fluid-filled sac that is visible outside of the back area.) In most cases surgery to repair the myelomeningocele is performed shortly after birth to prevent infection and further injury to the child's spinal cord and nerves. Unfortunately Prince Sky has been unable to have his surgery as his family cannot afford it. His father also lost his job due to COVID. His family have been diligently caring for his myelomeningocele - cleaning it, applying prescribed ointment and dressing it. Despite their care, it has been leaking and the risk of a life threatening infection is huge. We are raising funds to cover the costs of Prince Sky's much needed surgery. Can you help?
