In this COVID-19 season, SAFE-T Crisis Center has been placed in a position to pay for a large number of hotel rooms to quarantine our clients, who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
COVID-19 has hit our emergency shelter, and has required SAFE-T Crisis Center to quarantine all of our shelter clients and shelter staff. How do you quarantine in a shelter? You don't. Instead we need to provide every family or individual a hotel room. Additionally, the shelter building itself must be left empty for a week before staff can enter and begin disinfecting all of the areas. This means that SAFE-T does not have access to our pantry, hygiene supplies and the kitchen that we normally use. So additional costs were added, not only for the hotel rooms, but also for food and hygiene/medical supplies.
We need your help to continue to provide these life-saving resources for our clients here in East Texas. This is a tremendous financial hardship on SAFE-T Crisis Center and we are asking for financial donations to cover these life-saving services. One donation can make a family safe and secure for a night. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
