Sollay Kenyan Foundation (SKF) has been focusing its resources to help the less fortunate both here in the United States and in Africa.
· Problem at Hand
Prior to COVID-19 the African countries had very limited healthcare resources. Most hospitals did not have oxygen, ventilators, required masks, gowns and even enough gloves to take care of the patients. Now with the COVID-19 crisis, the available resources if any have been stretched to the limit. This has left the healthcare workers with no protection for themselves and their patients. With coronavirus, the continent is not able to meet the basic healthcare and nutritional needs of its people hence leading to devastating loss of lives. Testing kits are not readily available so an accurate count of who has the virus is not known. This is a problem because those who are infected will infect others.
· What We Are Doing to Help
SKF is organizing this fundraiser to help fight COVID-19 on the continent of Africa. This will provide emergency relief for those suffering from COVID-19 in Africa by providing basic healthcare and nutritional needs. SKF under the leadership of a renowned physician Terrance Baker, and Nurse Practitioner Modesta Vesonder have been at the forefront of providing supplies and care to the less fortunate in America and the African continent. The need is greater now than ever before. We cannot do this alone. We are asking for your help.
