La Puente has been fighting to alleviate the effects of poverty for decades. Today, La Puente is on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, La Puente's essential services are needed by a growing number in our community. We cannot continue operating without your help!
La Puente believes no one should go hungry, that's why our Homeless Shelter serves free community meals twice a day. On average, the Shelter gives out 55,000 plates annually.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Shelter to stop providing community meals, leaving many without access to food. La Puente has put together a team of staff and volunteers to distribute sack lunches, Monday-Friday, at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church. Currently, there is no dinner option available.
In order to continue providing these sack lunches and, hopefully, to begin providing sack dinners, La Puente is asking for monetary donations.
We need YOU! Every contribution--large or small--moves us toward our goal. Please donate if you can. For more information on La Puente's programs and needs during this time, please visit www.lapuentehome.org/strongertogether.
