In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Arina is 7-years-old and has cerebral palsy. Her parents recently noted she would grimace when eating cold food. She started to bite her cheeks and she was increasingly distressed.
They searched for a dentist that would see her, they were turned away by many due to her disability. Finally, they found one who would see her. The dentist advised them that she urgently needs dental surgery or her pain will continue to increase and her health will be at risk.
She will need to be placed under anesthesia for the surgery, which increases the total cost.
The cost is too high for her parents to afford, so they reached out for our help for their precious daughter. Can you help Arina?
