Ella Beach was born on February 17, 2008, and to the wonderment and joy of her parents grew into a beautiful, compassionate girl filled with a love for life that inspires everyone she knows. Ella is one of those beautiful souls who smiles too much, laughs too loud, and brings light and love into the lives of her family and friends.
Ella Beach began chemotherapy on February 17, 2018, on her 10th birthday, for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)- the most common form of cancer in children. She is fighting this with the help of what we have come to call "Ella's Angels"- a group of people at Oishei Children's Hospital, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, her family, friends and a loving and compassionate community who support Ella and her family through love, charity, and giving. Ella's Angels have made this journey possible, through the darkness and the pain there is always prayers and light that give her and her family hope.
In response to the charity of others, Ella, being Ella, asked us what we could do to help others with Leukemia. As she embarks endless hours of chemotherapy, spinal taps, and bone marrow biopsies- she wants to help other kids so they don't have to go through what she is. And the thing is... we are so close to a cure.
On Sunday December 16th from 8 am to around 2 pm we will be hosting a fundraiser sponsored by the Fredonia/Dunkirk Steeler's Hockey teams at Steele Hall on SUNY Fredonia campus during our annual Hockey Jamboree. There we will be selling Beanie Hats and Paracord Bracelets as well as raffling off gift baskets in an effort to raise money for research for a cure of childhood Leukemia and Lymphoma. Every penny raised will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a leading charity in the fight against blood cancers.
