Dear friend, just about a year ago, I made a pivotal career decision to take on the important responsibility of helping to care for some of Greater Cleveland's poorest and most frail citizens as . I joined the Village at a critical time in its 121 year history. The status of Medicaid and Medicare funding is under challenge, and there is the serious possibility that millions of Americans will lose their access to primary care, should efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act prove successful. I remain hopeful that more compassionate voices among our policymakers will prevail; however prudent planning requires that we ensure that we have sufficient resources to care for the more than 1,200 individuals we serve every year through our skilled nursing, affordable housing, and adult day services.
To that end, I need your help. Please take a moment and help me reach our $50,000 goal for Giving Tuesday that will allow us to renovate 100 bathroom floors in our skilled nursing facility. I have committed to trying to generate $5,000 in contributions toward that goal.
