Inspired by a Japanese story of a girl who was told her wish of recovering from cancer would be granted if she folded 1,000 origami cranes, Elio, age 13 year old, is folding cranes for cancer. He has received pledges between 2 cents and 10 cents per cranes and plans to fold 1,000. All money he raises will go to the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation which is a charity he researched and chose himself.
In line with the Japanese story after Hiroshima of the girl who folded 1,000 origami cranes in order to have her wish of healing cancer granted, he is hoping to raise money for cancer research.
Would anyone be willing to pledge a few cents per crane to the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to help him meet his goald? Please keep in mind that his goal is to fold 1,000 cranes (and it'll be capped at that number) so a pledge of dime, a nickel or even a few cents per crane would be amazing!
Thanks for your consideration! He'd love your support in his fundraising!
