Don't be fooled by the relatively lower elevation.
This mountain is home to dramatic peaks and a true mountain experience with Himilayan-like splendor. Beginners and ovice climbers alike will be challenged on this climb.
Described by most as “an awe-inspiring alpine ascent”, this three to four-day climb is one of the classic climbs in the Pacific Northwest. According to climbing legend, Fred Beckey, Eldorado Peak is the “Queen of the Cascade River”. Towering at 8,876 feet in elevation, climbers will ascend a little over 6,700 feet to reach the summit of this beauty. The North Cascades is the training ground for climbers desiring to gain experience before hitting the big mountains and more technical alpine routes. DO NOT be fooled by the lower elevation as this peak boasts a classic alpine approach through water-crossings, scree/talus and boulder fields, and glaciers to get to high camp. At high camp, you’ll be afforded with one of the best views you will ever experience. The summit push will have your heart pounding as you work your way up an exhilarating knife snow ridge to the very tiny summit of Eldorado Peak.
