No child should go hungry in Los Angeles.
Dear friends and colleagues. My birthday is 4 weeks away on August 12th, and all I want is to raise enough money for 80 food boxes for hungry families. Each food box is only $12.50 and provides enough food for a week for a family of four. How awesome is that?! Hunger can be hard to spot in Los Angeles. You can’t always see it, yet more than a million people – children and vulnerable adults – go to bed hungry. Every year, MEND distributes millions of pounds of good quality and nutritious food to people who are struggling to make ends meet. It has the largest foodbank in the Valley and supports tens of thousands of people - homeless men and women, struggling families, single mothers with nowhere to turn. MEND cannot do any of this work without help from you and me. I know that there are enough generous people reading this who do not want to see ONE person go to bed hungry. You and I share a desire to help people in need. And I want to THANK YOU in advance from the bottom of my heart for your generous spirit. More than two decades ago, as a new immigrant to this wonderful country, and a mother of two, I benefited from the generosity of so many beautiful souls. I was "adopted" into hearts and embraced freely. For that I will always be grateful. Will you consider adopting a family that is struggling today? A gift of any size will mean everything to the people that MEND helps. Blessings!
