I joined Esperanza Health Centers Associate Board at the beginning of 2019 after attending a few events and realizing the impact their mission of providing high-quality health care to the southwest side of Chicago community. Today I serve as the Co-Chair of Fundraising Committee on the Associate Board as a way to give back to my local Chicago community and aid in the growth what Esperanza strives to provide.
Health care is often a daunting situation for individuals and families to face when they do not have the resources available, while Esperanza provides care and guidance regardless of one's immigration status or ability to pay.
This past year, Esperanza celebrated its 15th anniversary AND opened its Brighton Park clinic located on the southwest side of Chicago. In addition to providing basic health care services, the clinic partners with Mujeres Latinas en Accion to provide vital social services to support and empower Latinas and has a teaching condition to educate individuals about how to prepare healthy meals.
To celebrate its 15th anniversary, Esperanza is challenging supporters to raise $15 from 15 individuals. Their goal is to receive 1000 small donations for a total of $15,000 that will support the construction of a playground at their Brighton Park clinic. I challenge you to donate $15 to support my $15 from 15 individuals challenge. Your support improves health equity and strengthens the Chicago community.
