This holiday season, we invite you to join us in supporting the be homeful project which is part of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness. You can donate a Paddington Bear or book for $25. That stuffed animal or book will go to a homeless child in the state of Connecticut, and the money will go to the be homeful project, a campaign to end homelessness for local families.
Every year in Connecticut, there are an estimated 1,000 homeless families, which translates to 2,000 homeless children who are living in shelter in the state. Currently, there is no major source of funding to keep struggling families from slipping into homelessness in moments of crisis. These funds will help Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) to provide emergency assistance to keep children and their families in their home. Funds will support a partial rent subsidy; assistance with a utility bill; a grocery card; a gas card.
